  1. Walk under 15 min → walk
  2. Else rideshare under €20 and meaningfully faster than PT → rideshare
  3. Else → public transport

Applied to this trip

LegRulePlan
Home ↔ MUC#3 (taxi €70+ fails rule #2)U1 → U6 → LH Express Bus (~1 h)
PRN ↔ Hotel Sirius#2 (Bolt €10, rule wins)Bolt (~30 min)
Hotel ↔ KODE Labs#1 (10 min walk)Walk

Airport rideshare cheatsheet

MUC: Uber + Bolt both have official pickup zones at T1 and T2. Follow "Ride App Pick Up" signs. Pre-book up to 90 days ahead (Uber Reserve / Bolt scheduled).

PRN: Bolt only (no Uber in Kosovo). No formal designated zone — request on-demand from arrivals curb after landing. Pre-booking supported in app but less reliable; on 01 May (holiday) ask hotel reception the night before to pre-book a backup taxi.

Day 1 · Wed 29 Apr — travel day

Day 2 · Thu 30 Apr — workshop day

Day 3 · Fri 01 May — departure day 🇪🇺🇽🇰 Labour Day

Public holiday both ends. Kosovo: reduced bus service + possible demos in central Pristina. Bavaria: MVG Sonn-/Feiertagsfahrplan (10-min U-Bahn intervals), shops closed. LH Express Bus runs normally.

Pristina · local basics

Currency · Euro (€)

  • Kosovo uses the Euro (official).
  • Cards (Visa/Mastercard) widely accepted in hotels, mid/upscale restaurants, shopping malls.
  • Carry €50–100 cash for small cafés, taxis, Bolt tips, 1A bus fallback.
  • ATMs: Visa/Mastercard/Maestro OK. Many charge a €3–5 convenience fee. Always decline conversion (your bank's FX is better).

Visa · German passport / ID card

Visa-free for 90 days in any 6-month period. Biometric ID card also accepted in lieu of passport. Bring whichever is longer-valid.

Connectivity

Strong 4G across Pristina (IPKO, Vala). Your Revolut eSIM (1GLOBAL) covers Kosovo. Speeds 10–30 Mbps typical. Activate ahead of departure.

Etiquette · tipping · safety

  • Tipping: 5–10 % in restaurants/cafés, round up taxis, small amounts for hotel staff.
  • Greeting: handshake; use title + last name until invited otherwise.
  • Basic Albanian: Përshëndetje (hello), Faleminderit (thank you), Gëzohem (pleased to meet you).
  • Topics to avoid: Kosovo–Serbia politics unless your hosts open it.
  • Safety: Pristina is generally safe. Standard big-city precautions. Avoid demonstrations (can spring up fast; 01 May likely has a labour demo).
  • Coffee: Turkish/macchiato culture is core. Long conversations over single cups — don't rush.

Munich · MUC airport lounges (DragonPass)

  • Airport Lounge World (T1 Pier, non-Schengen) — 1,200 m², hot buffet, showers, day beds. Apron + Alpine views. Priority Pass / LoungeKey / DragonPass / Diners Club.
  • Airport Lounge Europe (T1 level 5, Schengen) — DragonPass OK. Open 05:00–21:00, 3 h max stay.
  • Air France KLM Lounge (T1 level 5, Schengen, by gate D12) — DragonPass OK.

Access via Revolut Ultra DragonPass. On Wed 29 Apr, you're departing T1 (Schengen side) → Airport Lounge Europe is the target.

Kosovo key dates

  • Fri 01 May 2026 — Dita Ndërkombëtare e Punëtorëve (Labour Day). Public holiday. Offices + many shops closed. Demos possible.
